To create your homepage visit Pages > Add New. On the right side of your screen, assign the Home template in the “Page Attributes” area. Then, publish your page.
Create a Static Front Page
By default WordPress will load your latest blog posts on your website. To set your homepage template as the front page of your website simply visit “Settings > Reading” and choose your newly created page as the “Static Front Page”.
Add a Background Image
To update the image that appears behind the logo, navigation, and title, simply set a “Featured Image” on your page.
Add Your Widgets
The Home template has a dedicated widget area. You can add any widgets you’d like to this area to help create an even more dynamic homepage. Head over to Appearance > Widgets and drag any widget you’d like to the Home widget area. Here are a few included widgets that are built specifically for the homepage template.
